Lady Pirate Softball Throttles Brownstown with 16 Hits

The Charlestown Lady Pirate Softball team won their sixth straight Thursday evening and remained undefeated in conference play (6-0) by hitting arch-rival Brownstown straight out of town.  No one stranded here!  The Lady Pirates (11-3) scored 15 runs on 16 hits while committing just one error, while Brownstown (3-3 MSC) scored five runs on eight hits.  Charlestown scored two runs in the first, three in the second and four in the third to take a commanding 9-5 lead after three complete.  The Lady Pirates added six more runs late in the game enroute to a 15-5 final score.  Carly Price (10-3) got the win from the circle and was one of three Lady Pirates (Leah Sherrill and Lexi Logsdon) who booked triples from the plate.  Sherrill finished 3-of-5 at the plate and batted in three Charlestown runs, while Bethany Hall went 2-fo-4, including a double and three more RBI’s.  Charlestown travels to Edgewood High School Saturday to defend their 2015 Edgewood Invitational title, meeting Bedford-North Lawrence in the first game of the day around 10:00 am.  Follow CPPSB on Twitter for Lady Pirate Softball updates Saturday.
