The Charlestown Lady Pirate Track & Field team competed in Sectionals at Jeffersonville High Tuesday night.  Charlestown finished seven out of twelve schools in team scoring; however produced some additional newsworthy results for Pirate Nation.  The 4 x 800 relay team of Whitney Andrews, Kelsey Lakes, Gabi Gagnon, and Alysha Flaget will advance to next Tuesday’s Track & Field Regional Meet at Bloomington North, after finishing third in the Sectional Final.  The Lady Pirate 4 x 800 team also set another school record in the event with a time of 10:51.90.  Additional noteworthy Charlestown finishes include Jenna Daniel’s 4th place Sectional finish in long jump, and 8th in shot put event; Gabi Gagnon’s 8th place finish in 1600 meter run; Tayte Motsinger 5th place finish in 300 hurdles; Alysha Flaget’s 4th place in the 800 Meter run; and Whitney Andrews’ 5th place Sectional finish in 3200 meter run.  Jenna Daniel, Tayte Motsinger, Alysah Flaget and DeAshia King had finished with personal records in their respective events.  “I am proud of all the girls.  Each girl has improved throughout the season and it showed tonight!!  Our 4×800 relay team has broke the school record 4 times this season”, stated Coach Kim Carroll after the meet.
