Lady Pirates Back to Form, Beat Clarksville 10-0
The Charlestown Lady Pirate Softball team traveled to Clarksville Thursday and ended a two game skid with a 10-0 conference win in five innings. Bethany Hall got the Lady Pirates rolling in the second when she reached second on a Lady General error; but plated two runs. Leah Sherrill then put the Lady Pirates in overdrive with a right center field home run that also scored two runs. Charlestown scored five in the second, then two more in the top of the third when Hall and Kimbrell each batted in runs to make the score 7-0. The Lady Pirates stayed in cruise control mode, deciding the game for the Lady Generals in the fifth inning. Carly Price pitched the win from the circle, with six strikeouts, and allowing only three hits. Lexi Logsdon and Bethany Hall both finished three for three from the plate, Erin Kimbrell two for two, Carly Price two for three, and Leah Sherrill two for four…including the home run. The Lady Pirates (4-3 & 2-2 MSC) return to action Friday hosting Louisville’s Pleasure Ridge Park HS for a Varsity doubleheader beginning at 5:00 pm.
