Lady Pirate Softball Thumps Creek, 7-4

The Charlestown Lady Pirates moved to 3-1 & 1-0 MSC Monday evening after defeating visiting rival Silver Creek 7-4 in 6 1/2 innings.  Sophomore Kendall Cline stole the show again for the Lady Pirates, getting complete win from the circle, strikeout four and allowing four hits.  Cline not only performed well with her pitching duties, she also finished the game a perfect three for three at the plate, including a double, two triples and three RBI’s.  “Kendall did a fantastic job for us, and I was pleased with our hitting once we got their pitcher’s timing down” commented Head Coach Kevin Zollman after the game.  Kendall was named the Coyle Chevy, Buick, GMC & Coyle Nissan Player of the Game by CPPSB.  After two complete innings, Silver Creek jumped out to a one-nothing lead only to see the Lady Pirates get hot at the plate and score five runs in the third.  Creek couldn’t but a rally together from there on, scoring a run in the fifth and two more in the seventh before coming up short.  Carly Price and Bethany Hall both had big games again at the plate for Charlestown, both finishing 2 for 3 with 2 runs each respectfully.  The Lady Pirates host North Harrison Tuesday at five, in another very important Mid-Southern Conference contest.  The game will be broadcasted live by Pirate Pride Sports Broadcasting at www.CPPSB.com.
