Lady Pirate Golf Opens Season at Home
The Charlestown Lady Pirate Girls Golf team competed in their first match of the season Monday evening, hosting Jeffersonville and Scottsburg at Elk Run Golf Course. Coach Carroll fielded one returning golfer and has since added fiver new golfers to the program and sport. “They were nervous, and it was a learning experience for everyone. There is much room for improvement, but now they know what to expect competing with other golfers/schools. I hope to see lowers scores by the end of the season. We are still working on fundamentals and learning the rules/game of golf”, commented Lady Pirate Head Coach Kim Carroll. Final team scores included: Scottsburg 242, Jeffersonville 270, and Charlestown 283. The Lady Pirates are next in action against Clarksville at Elk Run.
