Lady Pirate Golf News and Notes
The Charlestown HS Girls Golf team competed against Borden, Silver Creek, and Eastern Thursday night at Hidden Creek GC. Silver Creek won the contest carding a team final score of 211; while Eastern carded a 237 team score; and Charlestown a 259. Smith from Borden was the contest medalist, finishing with a 44. “Silver Creek and Borden had players who had more experience than us. Ten of my girls have never played, but each are improving their game. Kylan Burke played very well today shooting a 56. This is her best round this year. Brooke Watson shot a 63, and continues to improve as well. The team will make improvements as the season goes”, commented Coach Carroll on the outing.
Last Thursday, the Charlestown girls golf team defeated the Clarksville Generals at Elk Run Golf Course. Kylan Burke and Brooke Watson tied for medalist, and new comer Lexi Eblen played well. “The girls were making better contact with the ball tonight. Kylan and Brooke lower their scores 5 strokes from last match. I am very encouraged how the girls performed individually and as a team. The girls are working hard at practice, and the improvements will show by the end of the season”, evaluated Lady Pirate Head Coach Kim Carroll.
Charlestown will next be in action on Monday, August 29th hosting Providence at Elk Run.
