Crowe Signs with Grace College for Volleyball and Track

Recently, Charlestown senior Lanae`Crowe was joined by family and coaches to sign her letter of intent to attend school and participate in both volleyball and track and field at Grace College in the fall.

Located in downtown Winona Lake, Indiana, Grace College is an evangelical Christian college housing six schools: The School of Arts and Sciences, The School of Behavioral Sciences, The School of Business, The School of Education, The School of Ministry Studies, and The School of Professional & Online Education.

Grace College is competes in the Crossroads League at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA Division 1) and is home to nineteen varsity sports including Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Men’s and Women’s Bowling, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Men’s and Women’s Golf, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Softball, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, Men’s and Women’s Track and Field, and Volleyball.

Crowe, who recorded over 1,000 assists in volleyball during her career at Charlestown and who won a sectional and placed 5th in the regional in the discus will major in nursing. When asked about her choice to play at Grace College with the Lancers, Crowe said, “I chose Grace College because they are a family based community. They strive on building relationships with students and making sure they feel at home. Playing college volleyball has always been my dream since third grade and I knew I could not pass up that opportunity. Also being a top competitor for track, coming in as a freshman made my decision easier.”

Charlestown volleyball coach Tammy Nuxoll shared the following sentiments on Crowe: “Lanae’ is a very hard worker on and off the court. I know that she will excel in the classroom and will be able to handle being a multi-sport college athlete. Lanae’ is a versatile player that will put in the work it takes to make positive contributions to the volleyball program.”

Charlestown track coach Jerry Doyle added, “It’s great to see Lanae have the opportunity to pursue her dream of being a multi-sport athlete in college! She is one of the hardest workers, and most dedicated athletes that has come through the Track & Field program in my time as a Coach! She works on her own time, year-round , on shot and discus, and has worked hard in the gym to get stronger. I look forward to this season, as well as following her in her college career! No doubt she will be a success in both athletics and academics!
