Chester Sets New Passing Record vs Salem
Senior Quarterback Tristan Chester was put to test last Friday night, when the Salem Lions felt content to concentrate on stopping the Pirate rushing game. Recognizing the situation, the Pirates took advantage by giving Chester plenty of passing plays to exercise his throwing arm……and exercise he did. Not only did the Pirates rout the Lions 40-8, but Chester completed 18 of 23 pass attempts (totaling 253 yards); breaking a 2006 school record. Chester now holds the “Most Pass Completions in a Game” school football record with 18, surpassing Andrew Smith’s 17 completions set in a 2006 meeting with North Harrison. Through six games this season, Chester has completed 58 of 93 passes (63%) for 885 yards, and thrown 11 touchdowns. Congratulations to Senior QB Tristan Chester, last week’s Coyle Chevy, Buick, GMC & Coyle Nissan Offensive Co-Player of the Game; and new Charlestown Pirate Football school record holder for most pass completions in a game.
The Pirates (5-1 & 4-1 MSC) are back in action this Friday in a very important conference showdown at Corydon (5-1 & 4-0 MSC). Kick-off Friday is scheduled for 7:00 pm, for a game that promises to be another emotional contest. DON’T MISS IT PIRATE NATION!
