The annual homecoming parade is just around the corner and we want to make everyone aware of a big change this year.

Thanks to the tremendous and welcomed involvement of our many school, community, and Little Pirate groups, our parade has simply outgrown the town square. This is a great problem to have, but we need to accommodate for the growth of our event with the safety of all participants and observers in mind.

We have, therefore, made the the decision to start AND END the parade here at Charlestown High School with the pep rally moving to the football stadium.

The parade will still leave from the CHS parking lot, travel down Monroe St. to Main St., then turning onto Main Cross at the square but not stopping. From there it will travel back toward school via Water St. to Level St. and back into the parking lot.

We thank the City of Charlestown for their hospitality in use of the square for many, many years and appreciate their understanding of the need for this change. And we thank the Charlestown Police Department for working with his to create the best new route.

The parade is scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 12th at 5:00 PM. More details are forthcoming, but we wanted to be sure to communicate this particular change early for everyone in the community. Please help us spread the word.
