Samantha Matthews Named McDonald’s All American Nominee

McDonald’s unveiled their list of more than 800 top male and female high school basketball players from across the country who will have a chance to play in the 42nd annual McDonald’s All American Games and on that list was Lady Pirate Samantha Matthews.  Players from 46 states and the District of Columbia were nominated by their high school coaches, athletic directors, principals, and members of the McDonald’s All American Games Selection Committee. Samantha was one of only ten girls basketball players making the final cut to be nominated from the state of Indiana. When asked about the nomination, Samantha said, “I am happy and thankful to be nominated along with some other great players from Indiana. I’m looking forward to making an impact and contributing to a successful program at UT (University of Tampa).”

The final rosters for the 2019 McDonald’s All American Games will be revealed on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 3:00 P.M. ET on ESPN’s “The Jump” and at 6:00 P.M. ET on SportsCenter.
