Lady Pirates Open with a 58-38 Win Over Corydon

Charlestown started “in a daze” but got it in gear to take a 30-23 halftime before opening it up in the second and securing a twenty point MSC and season opener at Corydon.  The Lady Pirates (1-0 & 1-0 MSC) were led by Kaitlynn Hennings 31 points and 5 steals and Justice Burdin’s 12 points to dominate in the second half.  “Henning’s defense was aggressive, she created a lot of easy baskets with her steals,” Coach Prichard said. “We played a great defensive game, and did a really good job of rebounding.”  The win marks the second straight victory over the MSC Lady Panther rivals.  The Lady Pirates host South Central tonight (Saturday) beginning with a 6:00 pm Junior Varsity tip.
