Lady Pirates Down New Washington 10-0
Picking up where they left off Tuesday evening in Corydon, the Lady Pirates kept the bats hitting; as they run ruled the visiting Lady Mustangs 10-0 in the sixth. Charlestown (11-4) won their seventh straight Wednesday evening, and now prepare for the MSC Showdown Thursday evening at league leading Brownstown. The Lady Pirates scored two runs in the first on two New Washington errors, then steadily scored each inning, while committing a lone error. Sophomore Kendall Cline got the shut-out win from the circle, while recording four strikeouts. Cline led the team from the plate as well, finishing two for four, including a Home Run, a Double, and two runs. Lexi Logsdon also finished two for four, with a double, three RBI’s and a run scored. Mackenzie Smith added a triple and Carly Price a double for the winning cause. Charlestown scored their 10 runs off eight hits. The Lady Pirate JV match up proved just as convincing, as Charlestown (4-2) topped their visiting Mustang counterparts to a score of 14-6 in the standard five innings of play.
