Lady Pirates Beat Eastern/Repeat as MSC Softball Champs

Monday evening the Charlestown Lady Pirate Softball team improved not only their 2016 season and MSC records with a 15-0 thrashing of Eastern (17-4 & 8-0 MSC); they also clinched at least a share of a second straight Mid-Southern Conference Softball Championship.  The Lady Pirates are scheduled to finish MSC play Tuesday evening at North Harrison (weather permitting), and could win the conference title outright with a victory over the Lady Cats; otherwise a loss would develop a possible three-way tie for this years Softball title with Silver Creek and North Harrison.
Monday evening Charlestown scored runs early and often, especially seven runs in the top of the sixth to beat the home standing Lady Musketeers soundly 15-0.  Carly Price (15-3) got the win from the circle, pitching six complete shut out innings, allowing just three hits, and striking out five batters.  Morgan Eldridge had a big game at the plate, finishing a perfect 3 for 3 from the plate, including a double, an RBI and three runs scored.  Leah Sherrill finished three for four at the plate, with an RBI and two runs scored; while Lexi Logsdon finished 2 for 4 with two RBI’s and three runs scored.
