Girls’ Golf Finished 2nd Behind Jeffersonville
Last night the Lady Pirate golf team teed off against the Jeffersonville Red Devils and New Washington Mustangs at the Elks Club in a battle of the three Greater Clark high schools. The Lady Pirates placed second with a score of 245, losing to Jeff who finished with a score of 230. The Lady Mustangs recorded no score due to an incomplete team. Lizzie Hill led the Lady Pirates with a low score of 58. McKenna Harbin and Juliana Roberts both shot a 62 while Andrea McCoy followed up with a 63.
Tonight our Lady Pirates host the Dragons from Silver Creek at The Elks at 4pm.
Lady Pirates Defeat Creek on Links
The Lady Pirate Golf team matched up with Silver Creek Tuesday evening, defeating them for the third straight time 238 to 244. Charlestown scores included Andrea McCoy’s 57, Kylan Burke and McKenna Harbin both shot a 60, and Lizzy Hill a 61.
“We improved our team score by 12 strokes from last match. I am very proud of the improvement I saw today. The girls are hitting the ball better, and it’s showing in their team scores”, commented Lady Pirate Head Coach Kim Carroll.

Lady Pirates Top CAI and Eastern on the Links
The Charlestown Lady Pirate Golf team ended their regular season on a very high note, defeating Christian Academy of Indiana 217 to 218, while continuing to improve every week. Eastern High School participated but did not post a team score. The winning Charlestown Lady Pirates were led by Lizzie Hill’s 46, while McKenna Harbin shot a 56, Kylan Burke a 57, and Andrea McCoy a 58. Christian Academy’s Trinidy Snider was the outing medalist with a 39. “I am so proud of these girls tonight. Lizzie Hill posted her lowest score this season, she played very well. McKenna Harbin shot her lowest score as well. I am so proud of their performances tonight, and the improvement they showed individually and as a team since the last time we played at Turning Point. We improved our team score by 17 strokes. Our goal tonight was for each girl to shoot mid 50’s, but I told them mid to high 40’s were possible. Each of them achieved our team goal. It’s great to finish the season with a win”, summarized a pleased Lady Pirate Head Coach Kim Carroll.
Lady Pirates Match-up with CAI on the Links
Charlestown Lady Pirate Golf clashed with Christian Academy Thursday evening, coming up just short, shooting a team score of 234…behind Christian Academy’s 200. The outing medalist honors when to Academy’s Grace Jennings who carded a 46. Kylan Burke led Charlestown scores with a 57, Lizzie Hill and Andrea McCoy both carded a 58, McKenna Harbin a 61, and Addison Harden a 66. “I am happy with Kylan, Lizzie and Andrea scores tonight. I would like to see us improve on putting. They are still learning the game and have come a long way since July”, commented a pleased Head Coach Kim Carroll of her Lady Pirates.
Lady Pirates Fall to Jeff, Continue to Improve
The Charlestown Girls Golf team competed against Jeffersonville HS and New Washington at Elk Run Tuesday evening; falling to Jeffersonville 228 to 250 (New Washington did not score). New Washington did post the outing medalist, as Katlyn Price carded a 44. The Lady Pirates were led again by Lizzie Hill, who shot a 59, and Andrea McCoy, who shot a 62; while Kylan Burke (63), and McKenna Harbin (66) rounded out the Charlestown team score.
“This is our lowest team scored posted this year. Lizzie Hill shot her lowest score to lead the Pirates with 59. Andrea McCoy followed up with a 62. I am pleased with the consistency of all our golfers scores each match. All of them have improved over the season”, commented Lady Pirate Head Coach Kim Carroll. Lady Pirates Sweep Creek and Eastern on Links
The Charlestown Lady Pirate Golf team took to the links Wednesday at Hidden Creek against Mid-Southern Conference foes Silver Creek and Eastern. The Lady Pirates swept both team, beating Silver Creek for the second time this season 258 to 263. Eastern’s #1 player earned the Medalist honor.
Lady Pirates Kylan Burke and Andrea McCoy shot 63, Lizzie Hill 65, and McKenna Harbin 67.
“I knew it would be close match, last time we met we only won by six shots. I am proud of the girls who are shooting consistent. I know they are capable of lower scores, and it will come in time. They all have made much improvement since July”, commented Lady Pirate head Coach Kim Carroll.
