Ford’s Drive 4 UR School Comes to CHS Saturday

The Ford Motor Company’s “Drive 4 UR School” fundraiser will be held at the Charlestown High School this Saturday, May 19th from 9am to 3pm in the south parking lot off Park Street, in Charlestown.  The program provides schools with an opportunity to raise $6000 to benefit the local Theater and Athletic Departments simply by having people come in and take a short test drive.
Specifically, for each two minute test drive, $20 will be donated.  This is a no sales pressure event, and all it takes is two minutes of your time Saturday.  So come on out, get behind the wheel of a brand new Ford, and help Charlestown High School out!  A registration form is available by CLICKING HERE.
A portion of the proceeds will also be given to Spencer’s Spectacular Fundraiser.

Charlestown Athletic Director Elected to IHSAA Board

Charlestown High School Athletic Director Chad Gilbert was recently elected to the IHSAA Board of Directors Southern District Urban Seat.  As part of the Executive Committee, Gilbert will take the place of Paul Neidig who was selected to become an Assistant Commissioner of the IHSAA earlier this year. In his fifth season as the Pirates’ Athletic Director, Gilbert has pioneered the development of new coaches and created a winning atmosphere inside the Athletic Department. While speaking about his recent election win, Gilbert commented, “I look forward to serving the student athletes in our state as a member of the IHSAA Board of Directors. I hope to find being a part of this Association fulfilling and ultimately one of the highlights of my career. I want to represent our entire district in a positive way.” Gilbert will take his seat on the board at the IHSAA Executive Meeting on January 11th, 2018.

FinalForms Launch

We are very excited to announce that the Charlestown High School Athletic Department has partnered with FinalForms, an online forms and data management service. FinalForms allows you to complete and sign athletic participation forms for your students. The most exciting news is that FinalForms saves data from season-to-season, meaning that you will never need to enter the same information twice! FinalForms also pre-populates information wherever possible, for each of your students, saving you time.

This will allow:

  • Coaches and trainers to have emergency information on each student through their mobile device
  • Parents to retrieve their information if an athlete decides to move and transfer

You may review your data at any time to verify it is correct. You will be required to sign your forms once per year and after any update.

We will be sending out the Parent Playbook to get started in FinalForms. If you require any support during the process, scroll to the page bottom and click “Use Support.”

We are asking that ALL parents of student-athletes use FinalForms. The Charlestown High School Athletic Department will no longer be accepting paper copies of the packets. The only form we will accept on paper is the Physical Examination Form.

Please register at: https://greaterclark-in.finalforms.com and follow the prompts to create your account, create your students and sign your forms.

We will be hosting a parent meeting for all student-athletes, and their parents, on Tuesday, July 25th at 6:00PM in the CHS Sports Arena to discuss the upcoming season, and to go over some things from FinalForms. A computer lab will be open and available for parents who would like to register their students that night.

Thank you for your assistance in streamlining our paperwork processes at Charlestown High School.
