Comments:  I’m very pleased with our effort today and thought the guys came out ready to play. The invitational is always important to us and is a great preparation for postseason play so it’s nice to get a couple of quality wins against real good competition.

Comments:  Great team win tonight! Kelly did a great job tonight on the mound and our offense came up with some good timely hits.

Comments:  Good conference win on the road tonight. A few young guys have really done a nice job taking advantage of their opportunities lately as we continue searching for an identity and consistency.

Comments:  This ranks as one of the most frustrating and disappointing losses in years. We are completely disrespecting the game of baseball in almost every facet right now. We need heart, desire, dedication, understanding of baseball, execution, teamwork and we need it fast.

Comments:  We left way too many men on base tonight and just couldn’t get the timely hit we needed to get over the hump.

Comments:  It’s nice to get off to a good start in the conference. Austin threw well tonight and we put together a couple of good innings offensively. Still have a way to go but we are making strides.

Comments: We didn’t come out ready to play today which is frustrating with a veteran ball club. We struggled on the mound to close out innings and our defense didn’t make the routine plays.

Tonight was a good win against a quality team. South Central always plays a good brand of baseball and it’s good to see our guys play as a team to get the win tonight.

Great bounce back day of baseball for us after a couple of good practices. We got great pitching, played good defense and got timely hits all day. As I told the guys, those are recipes for winning baseball.

Coach Comments:  Just got off to a horrendous start and it snowballed after that. Didn’t do much of anything right tonight. We’ll forget it and move on to a couple days of practice before we hit the field again on Friday.

Comments: Always exciting on opening day and I thought our guys played well, especially with the limited practice time to this point. It’s a long season and we have a lot to improve on, but it’s always nice to get a win on opening day.
