Pirate Tennis Tops Brownstown on the Road
Charlestown Pirate Tennis traveled to MSC rival Brownstown Monday evening and improved their record to 10-3 and 5-2 in conference with a 3-2 win over the Braves. The match was tight, but the Pirates prevailed as Miles Matthews and Trey Woodward put two quick points on the board for the Pirates winning 6-0, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-3 respectively in one and two singles. But the match wasn’t decided until Steven Delaney pulled out a two and a half hour three set match 3-6, 6-0, 6-3 including winning the last six games of the third set after falling behind 3-0. Doubles teams of Josh Copeland and Jacob Doherty 1 doubles and Chase Wray and Aaron Meyer both lost in straight sets. Patrick McCutcheon/ Jase Smith, Jacob Roberts/Issac Bates, and Nathan Massie/Jaz Bruce played well in JV matches against the home standing Braves. Pirate Tennis will be back in action Wednesday hosting Henryville and Thursday at North Harrison.
