Pirate Slugger Rider Signs with Kentucky Wesleyan
Charlestown Pirate Baseball Senior Kelly Rider signed his National Letter of Intent yesterday to continue his education and baseball career next fall at Division II Kentucky Wesleyan. Rider finished the 2015 season 4-0 from the mound with a 3.28 Earned Run Average, recorded 32 strikeouts in just over 42 innings pitched, and while throwing more pitches than any other Pirate on the season (727). Joining Rider at his signing were his parents, Brian and Christi Rider (seated); Coach Craig, Coach Romans, and Coach Eger. “We are very proud of Kelly and happy that his hard work is paying off for him. He is a good student and a good person. We look forward to watching him improve and continuing to play at the next level”, commented Pirate Head Coach Ricky Romans.
