Lady Pirates Drop Home Opener v Jennings Co

The Charlestown Lady Pirates fought hard in their home opener, but fell to Jennings County 2-1 at the conclusion.  Jennings County scored first midway in the first half; but Charlestown answered with a Tayte Motsinger goal, from about 25 yards out, a few minutes later.  After a 1-1 halftime score, Jennings County got a goal by Lexi Brown and Emily Montgomery to eventually help secure the win.  Lady Pirate Brenley Berger came up big with 11 saves for Charlestown.  “We were proud of our girls playing against a tough Jennings County Team.  It was a great first test for us, to show us what we need to improve on.  They worked hard for all 80 minutes and never gave up”, commented first year Lady Pirate Head Coach Chelsea Grover.  Next home game is against Southern at Charlestown Middle School next Thursday at 6:00pm.
