Lady Pirate XC Finishes 4th at Bulldog Classic

The Charlestown High School Cross Country team participated in the annual Bulldog Classic Saturday morning.  The Lady Pirates team, even without their #1 runner Whitney Andrews (in alignment recovery), finished an outstanding FOURTH place at New Albany’s annual event.  Charlestown was led by Freshman Katie Rhodes, who medaled in 11th place (top 15 received medals).  Just outside of medal contention, Freshman Gabrielle Gagnon finished 16th and Senior Alysha Flaget in17th place.  Rounding out the Charlestown finishers, Erin Kimbrell (24th) and Molly Sumner (31st).  “The ladies ran very well under very hot and humid conditions”, commented a proud Head Coach Jerry Doyle.
The Charlestown boys team, without Sophomore Seth Parker (nursing an injury), fielded an incomplete team; however Sophomore Darian Zeice, Freshman Skyler Elmore, and Freshman Matt Fellows all finished strong for the Pirates.
