Pirate Cheer Preparing for Saturday’s State Finals

CheerTeamState2016The Charlestown High School Cheerleaders have advanced to the Indiana Cheer Championship State finals for the 4th straight year.  Charlestown will compete against six other squads in the co-ed division this Saturday at New Castle High School; determining this years state champions.  This senior laden squad has been one of the top programs in the State the past 4 years.  In 2013 they were State runners up, 2014 they received 3rd place honors and last year due to a controversial scoring error Charlestown was kept from realizing their first State Championship.  This year’s squad hasn’t forgotten the sting of last year and has worked tirelessly improving their skill sets giving them another golden opportunity for success.  After a 3rd place finish at Regionals the team is poised for another great finish. These young athletes will give their all for the community, school and team they love. Yet another reason to be proud of the small town we call home, Charlestown.

Pirate Nation can help send off our Pirate Cheer Squad to State Finals with some support and encouragement for their long drive to New Castle; gather Saturday morning between 9:30 and 10:00 am, on the Charlestown City Square in advance of their 10:00 am departure.  All of Pirate Nation is invited to help send off our Pirates.
