Pirate Golf Make Two Trips to Wooded View

The Charlestown Pirate Golf team competed in the Mid-Southern Conference Tournament this past Saturday; at Wooded View Golf Course, in very rainy conditions.  Despite the rough weather conditions, all team members shot a lower 18 hole total than they did at the Wooded View Invitational played back in April.  Miles Matthews carded a 97, followed by Kyle Jackson and Brady Christman who both shot 103.

The team returned to Wooded View last night for a match against Jeffersonville and Clarksville.  Matthews once again led the way and tied his season low score of 43.  Kyle Jackson came in with a 49 and Brady Christman finished with a 51.

Pirate Golf News and Notes

The Charlestown High School Pirate Golf team wrapped up a busy week Thursday night at Hidden Creek against Floyd Central. Kyle Jackson was the team medalist with a 45, followed by Miles Matthews’s 47, and Brady Christman’s 52.  Wednesday the team had traveled to Chariot Run. Miles Matthews and Kyle Jackson were impressive for the first time playing the course with a 46 and 48 respectfully. Brady Christman showed improvement over last year by knocking off four strokes from his score last year at Chariot Run. The team is currently short one member due to an injury and therefore doesn’t have an official team score as it takes four members to score as a “team”.

Pirate Golf Improves their Team Score on the Season

The Charlestown Pirate Golf Team gave their best team effort of the season, despite the windy conditions, Tuesday night at Hidden Creek. The Pirates shot a team score of 194, placing second to Silver Creek and defeating New Washington.  Brady Christman took his turn leading the team with a 43 while Miles Matthews shot another good round with a 45.  Kyle Jackson’s 52 and John Watson’s 54 completed the team score. The Pirates will travel to Madison Thursday evening.  The Boys Golf MSC Meet will be held on Saturday, May 16th, at 8:30 am, hosted by Clarksville at Wooded View Golf Course.
